I feel the teachers whom the school has hired, they give quality teaching but sanction us. When we students go and approach our parents about the situation, the teachers just say something in defense and they just dont believe the teachers because apparently the teachers believe eachother... Also the bullying in the school is … *(Sep 2025)* - **3/5** — parent: good school but could do alternate sports clubs for those who are not interested in football or similar sports. could have more clubs like envolving computers for the less sporty kids and NOT have girls only school trips, should be open to all. very discriminative. *(Mar 2025)* - **1/5** — The place that RUINED MY LIFE: They are so clingy and think they understand you when they really don't, I am writng this in isloation over somthing stupid and dumb. They can punish you over somthing no one even cares about but they don't give one if it's somthing big. Head of year can't admit they are doing a poor job and Maiden Erlegh's website is so one-sided. They don't care about how ableist students are and the head of year is to wraped up in his own world 24/7 thinking they are always doing what's right even when they c… *(Mar 2025)* - **1/5** — Injured student: I got punched in the face by someone and they just let him get away with it just cuz they didnt kno his name, there was camera where it happened because im on some high risk assesment and exclusion prevention program they think im mental like them *(Oct 2024)* - **2/5** — A stain upon the local area: Poor discipline, bullying victims get in more trouble than the bullies because staff cannot be bothered to fulfil their duty of care. Staff would sometimes join in with harassment of myself and I never felt safe from the students who would follow me and make obscene dehumanising remarks about me. Classes are too large and noisy with often mediocre teaching. Wealthier students are treated preferentially as it's a largely middle-class school that cares more about profit and image than education. *(Apr 2024)* - **1/5** — Overrated and powerhungry: So basically i go to that school and they suspended me wanna know why ill tell you. So i said to some guy i aint wanna be his friend no more he took it personally and swore at me and they suspend me! *(Apr 2024)* - **5/5** — Hi there Lol: This school sucks and has bad teachers dont send your kids here especially girls😤 *(Apr 2023)* - **5/5** — Hi There Smile: this school sucks and should have better behaviour i am honestly shocked by the teachers dont send your kids here especially girls😤 *(Apr 2023)* - **5/5** — A truly outstanding school: It’s a great school with great people. Staff are great and I’ve never seen bullying. I would recommend. Don’t listen to people who make it sound like a prison- trust me it’s one of the best in the area *(Oct 2021)* ## Other schools in Reading - [Waingels](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/reading/waingels-16805) — 2.6/5 (14 reviews) - [Reading Girls' School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/reading/reading-girls-school-18816) — 2.5/5 (14 reviews) - [Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/reading/blessed-hugh-faringdon-catholic-school-4104) — 1.3/5 (10 reviews) - [Highwood Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/reading/highwood-primary-school-22992) — 3.2/5 (5 reviews) - [Crazies Hill Church of England Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/reading/crazies-hill-church-of-england-primary-school-20967) — 4.9/5 (4 reviews) - [Theale Green School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/reading/theale-green-school-19897) — 4.8/5 (4 reviews) --- Source: SchoolBrowse (https://schoolbrowse.com) — reviews and ratings are user-submitted by parents.
