Summergil House School

Summergil House School is an independent specialist school located in Presteigne, near Walton, on the border of Herefordshire and Powys in Wales. The school serves children and young people with complex needs, particularly those associated with autism and learning disabilities. It opened in 2016 with an initial capacity of 22 students and has since expanded to accommodate up to 50 learners. The school is set across 18 acres of rolling fields and woodland, featuring a modern building with bright classrooms, a swimming pool, and a smallholding with animals such as rabbits and chickens. The campus also includes converted cottages and a manor house, providing a peaceful and supportive environment for both day and residential students. Summergil House School follows a curriculum tailored to the skills, needs, and interests of its pupils, with access to the Curriculum for Wales and a broader focus on social communication, life skills, wellbeing, and independence. The school emphasizes play, identity, and positive behavior support, aiming to foster confidence and help students become active, valued members of their community.
