Lancaster Academy

Lancaster Academy is a co-educational secondary school located on Knighton Lane East in Leicester, England, serving students aged 11 to 16. The school gained specialist sports college status in 2000, one of only four in the East Midlands at that time. It features extensive sports facilities including a four-court indoor tennis centre, six floodlit outdoor tennis courts, multi-use games area, two gymnasiums, and a field. In 2014, the academy opened a new £13 million building housing modern science, maths, and IT departments, alongside a state-of-the-art dining atrium and kitchen. The school became an academy in 2017, joining the Learning without Limits Academy Trust. Lancaster Academy emphasizes preparing students for the world of work with a curriculum focused on respect, employability, accountability, diversity, and leadership, encapsulated in their READY ethos. The school has a reputation for good quality education, as confirmed by a 2024 Ofsted inspection rating it as 'Good' in all categories.
