## About

Ysgol Y Garnedd is a Welsh-medium community primary school located in Bangor, Gwynedd, serving the city and surrounding villages including Tal-y-Bont and Llandygai. The school is a modern facility that opened in November 2020 as part of Gwynedd Council's 21st Century Schools Programme, representing an £8 million investment in educational resources. The new building combines traditional welcoming values with contemporary teaching and learning resources, featuring fourteen classrooms, two ALN (Additional Learning Needs) classrooms, a nursery, Cylch Meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroup), music room, cooking facilities, gymnasium, and a large multi-use community hall. The school emphasizes bilingual education, with children developing confidence in both Welsh and English by the end of their primary school career. The school prioritizes pupil wellbeing, fair discipline, and partnership between school and home, with a strong emphasis on creating a caring, welcoming community where every child can achieve their potential.
