## About

Ysgol Gynradd Abersoch was established in 1924 and served the local community of Abersoch, near Pwllheli in Gwynedd, Wales. It was a Welsh-medium primary school providing education for children aged 3 to 8 years, after which pupils transferred to a nearby primary school for later years. The school was known for its strong community ties and its role in promoting Welsh language and culture in a holiday home hotspot area. Despite its historical significance and community support, the school was closed in late 2021 following a council decision, which faced public objections and controversy regarding the evidence used for closure. The school had a small student body, roughly around 50 pupils, reflecting the local population and demographic challenges.
