## Recent parent reviews

- **1/5** — Awful Academy: Had high expectations when this school went to an academy but it hasn’t improved any. Rather than dealing with behaviour the school puts kids in isolation, reflection or suspension and they miss out on vital learning time. Only have to look at what Ofsted said about this!! My own kids grades have dropped quite a lot over these last few years due to too may supply teachers. Don’t get me started on the headmaster, is there even one? Reason I say this is because he is never available when you need … *(Feb 2026)*
- **1/5** — Terrible school…AVOID: Absolutely diabolical school. They don’t know how to deal with student behaviour and give sanctions and suspensions out like sweets. They give no support or make any adaptions for SEND students and the headteacher is useless!!! *(Feb 2026)*
- **1/5** — Crappy school: They literally say "You're the best year we've ever had" but they talk to us students like dog shit *(Jun 2025)*
- **1/5** — Don't send your child here...terrible reputation: Basically your not allowed to have a sick child with this school before they start threatening you with prosecution...this school is a joke ..not much else to say about it *(Dec 2022)*
- **1/5** — shut down the school: This school wants shuting down The teachers do nothing about the bullying why do you think *(Jun 2022)*
- **5/5** — Excellent choice for our family: We've been at Outwood Academy Hasland Hall for a few years now and couldn't be happier. The facilities are great, the staff are supportive and the values they instil in the children are fantastic. My child is thriving and we feel part of a loving community. *(May 2022)*
- **5/5** — Welcoming and supportive: As a parent, it's lovely to see how welcoming and supportive the staff are at Outwood Academy Hasland Hall. My child has joined the holiday activities programme and is really enjoying it. We feel like we're part of a big happy family here. *(Feb 2022)*
- **1/5** — Just avoid: This school was/is one of the worst in the area, drugs and alcohol consumed on premises, had teachers that students didn't feel comfortable talking to or being around. There were a few teachers that students felt comfortable talking to but that was a rarity, yet the staff thought everything was fine. There were staff members that thought something was up yet did nothing and mental health support there was absolutely non-existent. *(Dec 2021)*
- **4/5** — Good experiences, but some challenges: We had a great experience with Outwood Academy Hasland Hall while our child was there. The SEND team were fantastic and the school's focus on wellbeing was really helpful. However, we did find the communication with staff sometimes lacking and the school's policies on uniform and equipment a bit inflexible. *(Sep 2021)*
- **1/5** — exam schedules: Honestly terrible if you are a year 11 student at the moment. School has handled the schedules for exams incredibly poorly (mainly science) to the extent of putting our GCSEs in jeopardy due to not even telling us or being 100% certain when the exams are. I don’t think they have taken the exams seriously as they keep changing the dates making people confused what to revise and sometimes giving them little time to. Also, the last day of school they said they were going to send the last praising s… *(Jul 2021)*
