Toilets are very unsanitary with cameras hidden in them which is a violation of privacy. Horrific learning environment with rude and disrespectful students. It is an unsafe environment with fights between pupils more often then it should. There is lots of supply and no actual teachers because of the schools poor standards. This school has ignored every way of improving and is an embarrassment to uk s… *(Jun 2025)* - **1/5** — Horrendous: More bothered about the length of girls skirts than they are about children’s wellbeing. Genuinely abysmal support for kids with mental health issues. Was being neglected at home at the time, bullied relentlessly from year 9-11, had no friends, an eating disorder and was in a violent and psychologically abusive relationship. I was crying out for help and being made to feel like a burden. I remember being moved to the front of my English class by Miss Richmond (who I WILL name because she is genu… *(Nov 2024)* - **1/5** — do not recommend: absolutely awful, don't go there. they don't take students with mental health issues or neurological disorders seriously nor do they take adequate care of them. they allow autistic students to be harassed am assaulted simply because of how their brain works. not only that, transgender and other lgbtq identities are assaulted and not given the privilege of a good and proper education because of the fact the teachers do not punish the students who publicly humiliate/assault/harass the gay/trans/ot… *(Jan 2024)* - **1/5** — Terrible don’t go: Don’t go the teachers are bad at there job and don’t stop assault *(Jul 2023)* - **1/5** — Absolutely terrible do not think about going there: Absolutely terrible don’t go there *(Jul 2023)* - **1/5** — Problems with Airedale Academy: Disgusting School. They do not support students with Mental Health. They only care about their money and feeling like royalty. Ever since I have joined, I have been bullied. This is because they allow people to spread things causing me to get scared when I enter the gates. Luckily, I have friends who help me through the day, otherwise they would have problems with my family. Please make sure you look at these reviews before joining. They help a lot. Also, when a student asks for help (based off … *(Mar 2023)* - **2/5** — Horrible towards students with mental health.: This school was terrible to me, especially when it came to my anxiety, I hate going outside and that caused me to stop going to school, and all I got told was that I was faking it, doing it for attention and that I'm never going to achieve stuff in life. If they actually worked with me more then maybe I wouldn't of found it as hard to go into school and get the grades I needed. Another thing to note is that during the time that I wasn't going in because of how much i hated leaving my house (whic… *(Dec 2020)* - **5/5** — Wonderful Community Feeling: I have been impressed with the care and attention my child has received at Airedale Academy. The staff are friendly and approachable, and the facilities are excellent. My child loves attending the after-school clubs and the rewards system is a great motivator. *(Sep 2020)* - **5/5** — Exceptional Education: My child attended Airedale Academy for 3 years and I was consistently impressed with the high standard of education provided. The teachers are dedicated and passionate about teaching, and the values of Care, Aspire and Succeed are evident in everything they do. *(Jan 2020)* - **4/5** — Some Good, Some Room for Improvement: My child is happy at Airedale Academy, but I have some concerns about the amount of homework and the lack of feedback from teachers. The facilities are good, but sometimes the school meals are not very tasty. Overall, a good school, but could be improved. *(May 2019)* ## Other schools in Castleford - [Castleford Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/castleford/castleford-academy-12328) — 1.2/5 (24 reviews) - [The Grange School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/castleford/the-grange-school-11901) — 1.9/5 (8 reviews) - [Airedale Infant Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/castleford/airedale-infant-academy-16278) — 4.5/5 (4 reviews) - [Oyster Park Primary Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/castleford/oyster-park-primary-academy-15995) — 2.9/5 (4 reviews) - [Castleford Park Junior Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/castleford/castleford-park-junior-academy-14526) — 5.0/5 (3 reviews) - [Fairburn View Primary School, Castleford](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/castleford/fairburn-view-primary-school-castleford-16637) — 4.7/5 (3 reviews) --- Source: SchoolBrowse (https://schoolbrowse.com) — reviews and ratings are user-submitted by parents.
