It provides English-medium education on both campuses and Welsh-medium education at the Builth Wells site. The school serves students aged 11 to 18 and is designated as mixed gender. In 2022, the school opened a new Sixth Form Centre and Community Hub in Llandrindod Wells. The school is currently undergoing proposed restructuring, with plans to establish a new all-age Welsh-medium school (ages 4-18) at the Builth Wells campus by September 2027, while the Llandrindod Wells campus would continue as an English-medium secondary school.
