There is a lack of variety in the staff and there is absolutely nothing done about bullying here. This "school" is open to everyone, but should it really? Not only do the teachers suck but so do the students! There is a visible increase of chavs who think they're hard, ruining lessons! And what do they get? They miss 2 lessons and go back! That's it! What confuses me more is th… *(Dec 2021)* - **1/5** — John Cabot Academy 😡: John Cabot Academy is the worst school I think I’ve ever been in in my 12 years of being alive they have terrible food service the head teacher isn’t very strict and lets kids get beat up ********* ******* it’s a horrid student I don’t recommend at all unless you want to be severely bullied *(Oct 2021)* - **1/5** — My daughters traumatic experience.: Everything is horrendous about this school. I'm ashamed as a mother that my student has had horrible results back from her tests. SHE IS YEAR 8! She's told me she is failing maths because hr maths teacher doesn't teach her anything. *(Jun 2021)* - **2/5** — The social elements of the school are bad: Theres too many chavs there needs to be the test to get in again The punishments handed out for bullying are not good enough. *(Jun 2021)* - **2/5** — Read my review and agree with me init: Bullying handling in this school is shit. istg the toilets suck so much and are worst then ordinary public toilets. I'm canceling JCA on twitter init. *(Jun 2021)* - **2/5** — Academics Ok, standards have slipped considerably: As a student here for a few years now, I have to say my time at John Cabot has been not the best experience. A major issue is the dealing with bullying, Homophobia is rampant and is not taken seriously at all, teachers treat it like a joke, and lots of LGBTQ+ students say that ‘sometimes they feel like second class students.’ The amount of abuse they have to deal with is unthinkable, and many of them say ‘I dread to have to come to this school’ and I don’t blame them. Along with this, many teach… *(Jun 2021)* - **1/5** — bad school: bad about the pandemic and how they handle it terrible school i go there everything is expensive eg food drink only allowed to buy water now which is £1 when you can buy a bigger bottle for like 49p. student getting bullied? the teachers do nothing to help as I been bullied before. being racist school do nothing. teachers don’t teach properly, don’t send your school to John Cabot, thanks *(Sep 2020)* - **3/5** — Ok school academics wise, with safeguarding HA no.: John Cabot academy. Over the years the food has gotten more pricey despite the food also shrinking. A bottle of water you can get in Tesco for 20p is £1 in JCA and is now the only drink you’re able to buy. The homophobia is unreal and the teachers do not deal with it the way they should. Instead they forget about it. It is the same with racism, islamophobia. When there is a serious issue regarding one of the teachers instead you get punished for shining a light on something, despite it being aga… *(Sep 2020)* ## Other schools in Bristol - [Oasis Academy Brightstowe](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bristol/oasis-academy-brightstowe-11752) — 1.5/5 (41 reviews) - [Blaise High School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bristol/blaise-high-school-20858) — 1.5/5 (28 reviews) - [Cotham School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bristol/cotham-school-13000) — 1.3/5 (23 reviews) - [Mangotsfield School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bristol/mangotsfield-school-16677) — 1.5/5 (22 reviews) - [Sir Bernard Lovell Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bristol/sir-bernard-lovell-academy-16402) — 1.8/5 (17 reviews) - [Winterbourne Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bristol/winterbourne-academy-19536) — 2.7/5 (15 reviews) --- Source: SchoolBrowse (https://schoolbrowse.com) — reviews and ratings are user-submitted by parents.
