About Lift Greenwood
Lift Greenwood (formerly Greenwood Academy) is a coeducational secondary academy located in Castle Vale, Birmingham, England, serving students aged 11-18. The school was rebuilt and reopened in new premises in 2017, and converted to academy status in January 2013 under the sponsorship of Academies Enterprise Trust (now Lift Schools). In July 2025, the school's name was changed from Greenwood Academy to Lift Greenwood. The school received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted in October 2021 across all categories including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth form provision. The school is organized into four houses named after World War jets: Spitfire, Lancaster, Gladiator, and Hurricane. With a mission to 'lift' motivation, outcomes, and aspirations for all students, the school aims to be one of the best schools in the country by 2030, emphasizing values of being unusually brave, discovering what's possible, and pushing the limits.
