I was told multiple times while I was there that Hayesfield Girls were expected to behave in certain ways. Very unsupportive and only seemed to care about grades - bar some lovely teachers who did genuinely care. Whilst the teaching is skilled and largely engaging (depending on the teacher) students are directed towards GCSEs from day one, creating a stressful, competitive atmosphere which is not at all good for developing minds. As a trans person, they were very unwelco… *(Apr 2025)* - **1/5** — Terrible: If I could give this school a zero I would . My daughter lasted a term at this school and I removed her . If your child has additional needs or is bullied then the school is absolutely appalling at dealing with these issues . I have seen 3 children through secondary school and this is by far the worst I have ever experience . Communication is absolutely shocking , even the council struggled to gain my daughter's basic information so she could transfer elsewhere delaying the process. No response … *(Mar 2025)* - **4/5** — Good school with good grades: Hayesfield is a good school academically, however lacks in some other qualities. The sports facilities are only what is expected of a state school but provide students with good spaces to learn and practice their desired sports in Leap and PE. There is a limited variety of extra curricular activities on offer as they change throughout years and focus mainly on sport. Another less good aspect of Hayesfield is the pressure students feel everyday surrounded by their peers, there is a unspoken way t… *(Feb 2025)* - **2/5** — grades > health: Too grade focused. I understand the whole point of school is to learn however the pressure hayesfield has is extreme! They prioritise grades massively over the individual and their mental health. When I was in year 9 they said I wasn’t allowed to stop doing a language and change to child development despite me never being in the lessons due to anxiety attacks and meltdowns. They said reason they wouldn’t let me was because my target grade was too high even though they knew the struggle I had wit… *(Apr 2024)* - **1/5** — STAY AWAY IF U WANT TO KEEP UR WILL TO LIVE: This place makes me want to kym everyday. They only care about how they look from the outside point of view and doesn’t generally care for the students. They are way to strict on the uniform and they want to be seen as the“perfect” school when it really isnt. Don’t even start me on the teachers. There are some nice ones but most of them left. The teachers here are always moody and have no compassion and I get the vibe they don’t like kids. It feels like a prison there and they are trying to make … *(Oct 2023)* - **1/5** — one of the worst schools: this school is great if you want to send your daughter to a school that cares more about grades and rules more than the students that attend. the rules are way overboard and sexualise the girls, they are not allowed to wear the pe skort but only wearing the ugly tracksuits over top all year round. the schools vegetarian options are worse than disgusting barely even edible and the allergy options are extremely limited and should be set aside for people that are actually vegetarian and not the peo… *(Jun 2023)* - **1/5** — PASTORAL NEEDS SOME WORK: In my experiences of the school I’m not very impressed, they only seem to improve when there is visitors or ofsted is going around. My pastoral experiences are worse, I was accused a lot and some of the staff likes to assume things without hearing your side. I’ve been shouted at, accused and punished when in reality it wasn’t my fault. I was accused a lot for bullying because they just have to pin it on someone in reality the so called “victim” was being nasty towards me. They were not sanctione… *(Jun 2023)* - **3/5** — Not bad: It's not necessarily a bad school but there's definitely room for improment. *(Apr 2023)* - **3/5** — hayesfield school is a alright school: it’s an alright school, but the students are horrible there’s always bully’s and pastoral care don’t do anything about it. teachers are strict and shout at you for doing wrong things. *(Feb 2023)* - **1/5** — Don’t go if you have a disability: Very poor treatment of disabled students and poor communication with parents of these children. The academic side is fine. *(Jun 2022)* ## Other schools in Bath - [Oldfield School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bath/oldfield-school-12195) — 3.4/5 (11 reviews) - [Beechen Cliff School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bath/beechen-cliff-school-20683) — 1.6/5 (10 reviews) - [St Mark's CofE School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bath/st-marks-cofe-school-21275) — 4.6/5 (6 reviews) - [St Mary's Catholic Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bath/st-marys-catholic-primary-school-24401) — 2.8/5 (6 reviews) - [Ralph Allen School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bath/ralph-allen-school-13851) — 2.4/5 (6 reviews) - [Mulberry Park Educate Together Primary Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/bath/mulberry-park-educate-together-primary-academy-19864) — 4.0/5 (5 reviews) --- Source: SchoolBrowse (https://schoolbrowse.com) — reviews and ratings are user-submitted by parents.
