Bad school: They do nothing for pastoral care. My daughter was so badly bullied she tried to khs. Not a good school *(Feb 2023)* - **1/5** — new rules.: No privacy with the cameras near maisonettes, feel extremely uncomfortable. Other years get blamed for things they haven’t done, and take the consequences. Teachers talk to students with little to no respect and expect much respect back. *(Nov 2022)* - **1/5** — Bad school in general: Toilets are always full of people vaping and there is no help if you get injured. They will just ask you to write a statement and do nothing after that. Lazy as hell school in my opinion *(Nov 2022)* - **2/5** — Help for students with mental health problems: I have a son that goes to the school unfortunately he has slight mental health problems and I am trying my hardest to get it sorted I have asked to get some help from the school, the staff do not want to do anything about it, and when we speak to them they keep giving us false promises. We spoke to them again face to face two weeks ago they promised they will help my son one week down the line that Help has stopped they don’t want to know. *(Nov 2022)* - **5/5** — A Truly Welcoming School Community: My child has settled in so well at The Costello School and we've been blown away by the warm and welcoming community. The headteacher's welcome on the website really does reflect the school's ethos - my child feels valued and supported every day. The digital learning scheme has also been a revelation - my child is learning so much and is really engaged with the technology. *(Sep 2022)* - **3/5** — Its alright: The school is alright, honestly the pastoral team dont do much for mental health or bullying. The teachers are alright, most of them are really good but there are a few that arent very nice. *(Sep 2022)* - **3/5** — Okay I suppose: Okay school I guess but teachers are either really good or absolutely horrible and the school really won't do much to help with mental health or bullying. (They removed the time put cards students with certain problems got to let them take a couple minutes to calm down this year wich is already backfiring) *(Sep 2022)* ## Other schools in Basingstoke - [The Vyne Community School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/basingstoke/the-vyne-community-school-6638) — 1.7/5 (18 reviews) - [Cranbourne](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/basingstoke/cranbourne-6633) — 1.6/5 (16 reviews) - [Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/basingstoke/bishop-challoner-catholic-secondary-school-6651) — 1.9/5 (14 reviews) - [Everest Community Academy](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/basingstoke/everest-community-academy-19225) — 3.4/5 (7 reviews) - [Brighton Hill Community School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/basingstoke/brighton-hill-community-school-22787) — 2.0/5 (6 reviews) - [St Mary's Church of England Voluntary Aided Junior School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/basingstoke/st-marys-church-of-england-voluntary-aided-junior-school-6573) — 4.8/5 (4 reviews) --- Source: SchoolBrowse (https://schoolbrowse.com) — reviews and ratings are user-submitted by parents.
