Schools are supposed to be a place of learning, growth, and safety, but for me, Riverside was a place where I suffered in silence for years. I am writing this not just as a way to vent but as a warning for others—especially for students who may be going through the same thing I did. The school claims to have “zero tolerance fo… *(Mar 2025)* - **5/5** — Excellence in Education: As a parent, it's been a joy to watch my child grow and thrive at Riverside School. The staff are passionate, supportive and genuinely care about each child's unique needs. My child's confidence has skyrocketed since joining the school and I couldn't be happier with the progress they've made. *(Feb 2025)* - **4/5** — A Hidden Gem in Barking: I was blown away by the dedication of the teachers and the care shown to my child. My child has made significant progress since joining Riverside School and I'm so grateful for the experience. The school's commitment to inclusivity is truly admirable. *(Feb 2025)* - **1/5** — riverside: riverside school was absolutely shit worst time ive ever spent in a school *(Sep 2024)* - **1/5** — your children are not safe!: The maths department house is known druggies masquerading as teachers who come into school under the influence and I am sure of one instance of a teacher taking cannabis into school. To sell or for himself, I am not sure but it is utterly disgusting. *(Apr 2024)* - **1/5** — School is a disgrace, students are out of control: I am a resident close to this school and the discipline of the students is dreadful. Litter everywhere, vandalism, shoplifting, fighting outside, destroying flower beds, complete and utter disregard for the people in the area. A real blight on the community. School reluctant to do anything. *(Dec 2023)* - **1/5** — Children should now not only their rights but also they duties: I can see that there are many bad reviews about the teachers and the school standards. I am resident in the area and all I can say is that the students in the school are like released from the jungle. Students fight on the streets, they throw litter, they are noisy and not polite. Does not look like the parents or the teachers are doing anything about it despite multiple complaints being made to the school. Those wild kids never will grow up decent humans if no one is putting an effort to discip… *(Sep 2023)* - **1/5** — Riverside secondary school barking is horrendous. NO MANNERS: This school is horrendous they claim to have discipline but children get bullied all of the way through their school journey. The teachers do absolutely nothing about it. Not to mention their school code of conduct is stupid. *(Jan 2023)* - **1/5** — Not an outstanding school but a concentration camp: I am posting this and 1-star is generous. This is not a school, but is a concentrating camp run by a mercenaries. You breathe and you get detained. You question the academic, you get detained. Basically, the school is run by thugs - both on the student front and teaching front. How Ofsted rated it outstanding - obviously they've been paid our are blind that the thuggish behaviour and culture in this school is what is welcomed more than people from other cultures. Teachers are scared as they'll b… *(Dec 2022)* - **1/5** — Riverside: This school is horrible children are bullied by other students and teachers don’t care. Students get picked on by teachers and children are trusted alone in classrooms with boys. Children are being sexually assaulted and no one did anything about it. Students need real support and the school don’t give that. Students need justice but the school don’t care unless you have a pericing in or if you have non uniform then you get punished. *(Dec 2020)* ## Other schools in Barking - [Barking Abbey School, A Specialist Sports and Humanities College](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/barking/barking-abbey-school-a-specialist-sports-and-humanities-college-798) — 1.6/5 (7 reviews) - [Thames View Junior School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/barking/thames-view-junior-school-16391) — 4.8/5 (4 reviews) - [St Margarets CofE Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/barking/st-margarets-cofe-primary-school-18339) — 2.5/5 (4 reviews) - [Riverside Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/barking/riverside-primary-school-16775) — 4.8/5 (3 reviews) - [Greatfields Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/barking/greatfields-primary-school-18096) — 4.7/5 (3 reviews) - [Gascoigne Primary School](https://schoolbrowse.com/gb/barking/gascoigne-primary-school-10852) — 4.6/5 (3 reviews) --- Source: SchoolBrowse (https://schoolbrowse.com) — reviews and ratings are user-submitted by parents.
